This year, as in 2024, you are invited to Chisholme for a two-day celebration of greening on May 5th and 6th.
MONDAY 5 MAY
A woodland walk is proposed for the 5th, Bank Holiday Monday, between 2.15 - 4.00, an opportunity to see how the recently planted woodland areas are progressing just as they are bursting into leaf. And also to see the garden and tunnels, newly planted by a team of volunteers in April.
At 4.30 there will be a presentation of Chisholme's summer programme of courses and events, including a report on the recently completed Six Month Course. New to the course was its particular focus on the interdependence of all life, as seen in the four spheres of ecology, economy, culture and spirituality. The summer programme will include provision for the continuation of this very fruitful enquiry. Weather permitting there will be an evening barbecue.
TUESDAY 6 MAY is Khidr’s Day.
Khidr, ‘the Green’, possesses the knowledge that is ‘close to God’, that is, the inner knowledge of what things truly are and why they happen as they do.
Ibn Arabi says: ‘Everything has an external and an internal aspect. In its internal aspect lies the purpose of the Creator’.
At a time of global upheaval and change perhaps this is an opportunity to reflect on the rejuvenating gift of esoteric knowledge… There will be a meeting for conversation in the Mead Hall between 9.00 and 12.00.
And, you are warmly invited to Khidr’s Day zikr at 9.00 pm.
RSVP to secretary@chisholme.org so we have an idea of numbers.
Please also let us know which days you will be coming, if you will be here for lunch and/or supper either day, and if you need accommodation.
SUGGESTED DONATION
