Accommodation
Student and visitor accommodation is mostly in the converted farm steading, a short walk from the main house. Accommodation is shared, usually in double or triple dormitory style rooms, simply and beautifully furnished. Single rooms may also be available, on request.
Bed linen and towels are provided.
Wash facilities, showers and toilets are grouped together on the ground floor.
There is a bathroom suitable for disabled users.
However, there are no bedrooms with en suite facilities.
Meals
We all eat together in the large dining room in the main house.
Chisholme is not vegetarian but meat (locally sourced lamb or beef, no pork) is prepared with the deepest respect for its benefit and origin. Meanwhile vegetarian dishes comprise the majority of the food served and are always available as an option. Please let us know of any dietary needs when you book your stay.
What to bring
Please bring clothing appropriate to the season and to the changeable weather. We can give further advice when you book your stay.
Internet and Phone
There is some mobile signal within the Chisholme grounds, and Wi-fi is available in the main house.
Disabled facilities
The accommodation in the farm steading has ground floor rooms with wheelchair access, and a bathroom with toilet and shower suitable for disabled users.
The main house is a listed building, and wheelchair access is limited. However, we have always been able to find a happy solution to accommodate our wheelchair-bound visitors and students.
Please contact the secretary to discuss your needs.
Children
Children are very welcome at Chisholme, but please discuss the arrangements with the secretary when you book.
